This past week, Hilbert College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a Banner Signing event in the Hafner Recreation Center as a way to show support for not only the NCAA One Team initiative but for diversity as well.
 
The One Team initiative assists those who associate with the LGBTQ community and provides them with a strong support system which was lacking before. The initiative also comes with a nondiscrimination policy to help protect those students.
 
Hilbert's SAAC opened the signing event to everyone on campus.  The goal was to show support for not only the LGBTQ community, but for all communities that the campus is home to. Hilbert, known for its very diverse community, continues to show constant support for them.
 
The ONETEAM banner has been reinstalled in the gymnasium near the HawksNest banner as a method to show that Hilbert Athletics is making strides towards equality in all sports.
