BUFFALO, N.Y. - With less than three hours to prepare for the site change, the Hilbert College women's soccer team hosted Medaille College in both team's final Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match this afternoon.
The Mavericks took a 2-0 victory over the Hawks at Dobson Field in Buffalo.
Brianna Stegmeier was credited with 14 saves by the final horn but gave up the game-winning goal at the start the game.Â
Medaille added a second score in the 34th minute when a hard shot, punched by Stegmeier hoping to push it over the cross bar, hit the bottom of the bar and bounced over the goal line.
Morgan McNeill earned Hilbert's first shot in the 49th minute  and
Lauren Lepovich as well as
Amber Stuck found their range late the game, but were wide of the frame.
Medaille (3-14) closed their AMCC schedule with back-to-back conference wins while the Hawks were held scoreless in league play.
The Athletics Department would like to thank
Aurora Klawinski for four years of effort and leadership as well as
Jordan Collins' three seasons of hustle. Â
Lauren Lepovich and
Calista Mis supported the programs for the last two seasons while
Morgan McNeill and
Ashley Iwanenko added depth this season.Â
