The Hawks doubled-up the Lions on the offensive glass by finishing with a 22-10 advantage. .

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Penn State Behrend built a 4-0 lead early in the opening quarter.  The Hawks knotted the game at 6:58.

Both teams played through four lead changes and tied the score three other possessions before the Lions went on a 7-0 run to finish the session.

After falling behind by nine points (20-11), Ashley Schroeder's long distance hit evened the score at 20-all.  Gawlak (four) and Corts played a part in that mini-run and Repine tossed in the other bucket forcing a 22-22 score with 2:56 left.

Schroeder and Gawlak went 4-for-4 at the charity stripe, but the Hawks couldn't connect from the floor at the close of the second quarter and found themselves trailing 31-26 by intermission.

Hilbert finally outscored the Lions in the third quarter (21-11) and took a five point lead into the final period.

Gawlak used her speed in transition and went on a 10-point run inching the Hawks within one point (36-37), scoring fast-break buckets five consecutive trips.

Kisner finished in the lane and then Corts struck from downtown lifting Hilbert (41-39).

The Hawks didn't look back after that final lead change and held a 47-42 tilt at the start of the 4th.

Three different Hawks scored in the first 90 seconds, and, after Schroeder dialed-up from deep again, Hilbert built a double digit margin.

The Hawks sprinted  back on defense with a 10-point lead on three different occasions, their final one with 4:46 remaining.

Behrend created a three-point spread twice and each time Hilbert responded.  Repine powered down the lane and finished a Corts lob and Schroeder knocked down two very important freebies at the foul line with 10 seconds left.

Behrend was fouled in the act of shooting a three with :02 on the clock, and after hitting the first two, they clanged the third shot off the rim. A Lion found the offensive rebound but Repine stayed home and blocked the last second shot away for the win.

GAME NOTES

Ashley Repine finished with three block shots, and three assists  while Taylor Corts dished for two more assists and redirected two of Behrend's attempts from the floor.

Hilbert finished the game hitting  34.8-percent of their  field goal attempts after limping through the first half sinking only 23-of-66 shots (26.7%).  The Lions were consistent shooters both halves connecting on 42.9-perfect by the final horn.

Behrend was whistled for 25 fouls but Hilbert connected on only 14-of-22 free throw attempts (63.3%) which ultimately kept the game close in the final quarter.

Ashley Seamon and Kara Haslett led Behrend with 14 points and Seamon picked the glass for 10 rebounds.
