ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will host the 2022 Behrend Invitational in the Junker Center on Friday and Saturday, September 9 and 10. The Lions will face SUNY Oswego in their home opener on Friday at 7 p.m.

* The Lions are coming off a 3-0 win against Fredonia on Wednesday night
* Behrend posted a 25-21, 25-14 and 25-18 victory to even their record at 2-2
* Brooke Joncas (Corry, PA/Corry) led with nine kills and Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) had a team-best 10 digs
* The Lions competed in three matches last week, getting their first win of the season on Saturday
* Behrend defeated Buffalo State 3-2 at the U of R Invitational
* Senior middle hitter Sarah Cole (Jackson Center, PA/Lakeview) was named to the All-Tournament Team
* Cole tallied 10 kills and five blocks in the five-set win over the Bengals
* Junior setter Meg Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) had a career-high 28 assists and 21 digs vs. Hiram on Thursday
* Goodsel, Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and Kelli Hoffer (DuBois, PA/DuBois) registered double-doubles in the first match of the season
* Phillips contributed 12 kills and 12 digs, while Hoffer added 10 kills and 14 digs
