GREENVILLE, Pa – Senior goalie Ryan Valentine returned between the pipes tonight which gave Hilbert another field player to use on attack at Thiel.  The Hawks found a little more rhythm offensively but suffered a 4-0 defeat to the Tomcats

Thiel got on the board first after they intercepted a misplayed ball which was sent back to Valentine in the box.   After their first goal at 11:34, the Tomcats converted their penalty kick in the 38th minute to take a 2-0 lead to intermission.

Thiel netted two more goals 78-seconds apart just over ten minutes into the second half.  The Tomcats used their head off a corner to angle the ball to the back of the frame at 56:12 and they finished a drive from the far left to the inside post for the four-goal cushion.

Travis Hicks took four shots to lead Hilbert's attack tonight under the lights.   Thiel unleashed 26 shots and 10 corner kicks to Hilbert's 7 shots and five corners.

Valentine was credited with 10 saves in his first game of the season.

Hilbert (0-3) will battle St. Vincent College (1-4-1) this Saturday, September 16 (2pm) in the opening game of the double header Hawks vs. Bearcats.  At this time, no live links are available but visit the team's schedule page for any updates.
