Behrend Men's Volleyball Defeats Hilbert

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team swept Hilbert 3-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) regular-season home finale on Wednesday night in the Junker Center.

* The Behrend Lions remain undefeated against the Hawks in the all-time series
* All three sets were decided by five points or less
* The Lions had 21 digs and 12 kills in the first set
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) had four kills and seven digs to help Behrend take a 1-0 lead
* Hilbert took an 18-16 lead in the second set, but the Lions went on a 3-0 run to force the Hawks to take a timeout
* After the break, Behrend never trailed and got three kills from Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) to close out the set 25-22
* In the third set, the final six out of 17 ties happened in the final 14 points
* Knotted at 22-all, Hilbert got a kill by Brad Converse to take the lead
* The Lions won the final three points on a service error, kill from Hering and another from Hoffman
* Hering tallied seven kills and one ace in the third
* Hering finished with a game-high 12 kills, six digs and two blocks
* Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) had 21 assists, four digs, three blocks and two kills
* Caden Mealy (Meadville, PA/Meadville) added 15 assists
* Joshua Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) had a team-high eight digs
