PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche College used strong hitting and blocking to claim a 3-0 victory over Hilbert College in women's volleyball this afternoon.

The Hawks from Hamburg earned 26 kills but only one service ace and one block in their fourth AMCC contest this season.  Hilbert dropped to 1-3 in league action while La Roche grabbed their first victory in their opening game.

The Redhawks escaped with a 25-21 win and then rolled to a 25-18 and 25-13 match win.

Torianna LeWand picked up eight kills and Ashley Repine (seven) and Amanda Binder (six) combined for 21 of the team's 26 kills.  La Roche finished the match hitting .263 while Hilbert ended with .080 attack percentage.

With her 18 assists, Morgan Ott moved into the #2 All Time Assist leader at Hilbert today.  The third-year player added a pair of kills and nine digs.

LeWand led with 15 digs and Aniessa Quiroga chipped in 13.

Repine (solo block) and Victoria Siracuse (service ace) each earned Hilbert's only stat for the game.

Hilbert (4-11, 1-3) returns to the friendly confindes of the Hafner Recreation Center for back-to-back home matches.  The Hawks will host Penn State Behrend Tuesday, October 4 and Cazenovia College Monday October 10 (6pm).  Both contests will be live streamed for out of town fans who cannot attend.
