HAMBURG, N.Y. –  The Hilbert College women's soccer team played to a 1-0 half time score, but still couldn't find the back of the net against Franciscan as they slipped in a 3-0 AMCC defeat today.

The Hawks kept the Barons off the scoreboard for 26 minutes, until Franciscan pushed the ball over the goal line by winning a one-on-one with a Hilbert defender.

The give-and-go passing in the 54th minute lifted Franciscan by two and took the wind out of Hilbert's sails.

Lauren Lepovich's restart kick with 9-seconds left in the game led to an impressive save by the Baron keeper as she preserved her shutout by inches.  Emily Gawlak finished with a pair of shots on goal, both  taken in the first half.

Brianna Stegmeier closed the game with 12 saves, making six each half.

The women's soccer team (0-9, 0-2 AMCC) is scheduled for a quick trip to Pitt-Bradford Wednesday, October 3 with a 2pm kick.
