HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Penn State Behrend baseball team split an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader at Hilbert Wednesday afternoon.

Game One: Penn State Behrend 7, Hilbert 4 (7 inn.)
Records: Penn State Behrend (13-6, 2-1 AMCC), Hilbert (13-9, 2-3 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* The Lions got on the board first thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle) and Anthony Slate (Hopewell, PA/Hopewell)
* Hilbert responded with an RBI double from John Riviere-Vejas in the bottom of the first
* Silvio Ionadi (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) put the Lions back on top by two (3-1) in the top of the second with an RBI single
* Behrend recorded another RBI single in the third inning courtesy of Chase Palmer (Brookville, PA/Brookville) to take a 4-1 advantage
* A Hawks wild pitch led to another run for the Lions in the top of the fourth
* Jairo Santos plated a run for Hilbert in the bottom of the fourth with a single to cut the Hawks deficit to three (5-2)
* The Lions capped off their game one victory on an RBI single from David Gibson (North East, PA/North East) in the top of the sixth
* Starter Colin Bolla (Fairview, PA/Fairview) tossed 5.1 innings and struck out five to earn the win, while Joe Lang (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) picked up his first save of the season in 1.2 innings of relief to go along with three strikeouts
* Slate finished 4-for-4 at the plate, while Ionadi went 3-for-3 with a run batted in
* Hilbert was led by John Riviere-Vejas's two hits and two RBIs

Game Two: Hilbert 14, Penn State Behrend 4 (7 inn.)
Records: Hilbert (14-9, 3-3 AMCC), Penn State Behrend (13-7, 2-2 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* A four-run third inning and a pair of three-run innings propelled the Hawks in game two
* Hilbert put up a three spot in the first inning on a groundout RBI and pair of RBI walks
* The Hawks tacked on another run in the second thanks to a Jairo Santo RBI single
* Behrend got on the board in the top of the third off a sacrifice fly from Ionadi
* A two-run double and RBI single gave the Hawks an 8-1 advantage after three innings
* In the top of the fourth, Gibson hit a solo homer for his second of the season to cut the Lions deficit to six (8-2)
* Gibson and Ionadi made it 9-4 in the fifth with a pair of RBI singles, but Hilbert extended its lead with five more runs in the sixth and seventh innings to force the 10-run rule to go into effect
* Ionadi, Gibson, and Boehme each recorded two hits, while Ionadi and Gibson drove in a team-high two runs apeice 
* In 2.2 scoreless innings of relief for the Hawks, Ronald Mort only surrendered three hits
