Tennis cruises to 8-1 victory over Waynesburg in season opener

Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa: The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team got their season off in winning fashion by cruising past Waynesburg University 8-1, Friday night.
 
Shayla Landman defeated Rachel Klemash at #1 singles 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 while also winning in her #1 doubles match, with partner Corrine Kirk. Kirk was defeated by Rachel Wilson in her #3 singles match.
 
 Alexandra Claherty and Sydney Geary won their #2 and #4 single matches, respectively.  Claherty won 7-5, 6-2 while Geary won 6-0, 6-0. Claherty and Geary moved on to post an 8-1 victory in #2 doubles.
 
Amanda Jepsen cruised to a victory in #5 singles winning 6-0, 6-0. Jepsen teamed up with Emily Frye for a win at #3 doubles with a score of 8-1. Lindsey Bonacci recorded a win for the Bobcats in #6 singles competition with a score of 6-4, 6-0.
 
The Bobcats (1-0) will kick off conference play as they travel to Altoona on Sunday to square off against Penn State Altoona at !:00 pm.
