BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's lacrosse team suffered a 16-2 NEAC and Buffalo Cup defeat to Medaille College tonight under the lights at Dobson Field in the lower Westside of Buffalo.

The Hawks fell behind 9-1 by half time and continued to struggle on the offensive end as they scored one additional goal in the final period.

Calista Mis and Josephine Ban each netted unassisted goals with Mis striking in the first half.

Hilbert was credited with 12 shots and only three free position shots.  The Mavs were on the attack all game unleashing 39 shots and working for 14 free position shots.

Ashley Repine took the loss going 30 minutes while making three saves (nine goals) in the first half.  Caitlyn Eleczko finished the game with seven saves while giving up seven second-half hits.

Medaille controlled the draw, winning 14 of the 20 taken and caused 20 Hilbert turnovers.

Ban led the attack with five shots, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and won a pair of draw controls.  Mis, Natassia West and Repine added five ground balls each.

Hilbert (1-10, 0-5 NEAC) are traveling this weekend to Penn State Abington and Bryn Athyn for a back-to-back pair of NEAC games Saturday and Sunday.  They will most likely NOT have to worry about snow down in southeastern Pa.

The Hawks then close-out their 2018 season with another back-to-back weekend of action when they host Keuka College April 27 and then honor their seniors on April 28 against Wells College.
