KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - Senior Middle Hitter Ashley Repine posted her first double-double in women's volleyball against Lasell this afternoon, but her individual effort was not enough to carry the Hawks volleyball team to victory.  

Hilbert dropped a pair of non-conference games on day two of the Keuka College Invite and slipped to 0-3 overall.

Hilbert opened the day with a 3-0 loss (25-8, 25-10,25-7) to red-hot Union College, who eventually went 4-0 by the end of the invite.  The Hawks took advantage of the hour-long break they found themselves in after the 53 minute game vs Union to prepare for their next match.  

Hilbert was very competitive against Lasell in the 12 pm contest.  The Pride battled back in the first set, and, after taking their first lead, 8-7, they never relinquished their hold to win 25-21.  

The Hawks again took an early lead in the second set and stayed within reach (16-15) but Lasell outscored Hilbert  4-1 and built enough wiggle room to take a 25-19 win.

The Hawks and the Pride went back and forth throughout the third set.  Hilbert was the first to reach 20 points, but from that point forward, each team matched the other's effort.  The Hawks scored back-to-back points, going from 23 to the set-winner 25 and earned their first set win (25-22) since September 20, 2018.

The fourth set appeared to mirror the first three until Hilbert's offense hit a skid.  They went from three points down (11-8) to seven (20-13).  Lasell earned four of their final five points to win the match 25-15.

Repine finished the 4-set match with 14 kills (.195), 13 digs and three solo blocks.   Freshman outside hitter Cassandra Thompson collected seven kills and 10 digs while sophomore defensive specialist Kayla Kuzara added 10 digs.

Freshman setter Ashley Page was credited wtih 17 assists and nine digs and outside hitter Rachel Hare chipped in nine digs and led with three service aces.

Hilbert returns to action next Saturday, September 7 when they host their home opener against Cazenovia College at 12 pm.
