ABINGTON, Pa. – Aaryonah Vaughn's 3rd goal brought Hilbert within two points (6-4), but Penn State Abington took over the game and sprinted to a 21-6 NEAC victory at home.
The Hawks (1-11) fell to 0-6 in league play while Abington (2-9) earned their second conference win.
Hilbert won 15 of the game's 29 draw controls and attempted their second highest amount of free position shots this season (10).
Abington caused 13 of Hilbert's 24 turnovers. The Hawks hurt themselves with 20 1st-half miscues as they fell behind 14-4 by intermission.

Aaryonah Vaughn scored four goals off six shots and converted her one free position shot while
Brooklynn Gormel scored the other two Hilbert markers, both from the 8 meter line.

Calista Mis led Hilbert with two caused turnovers and scooped a pair of ground balls and
Natassia West earned a team-high three ground balls.
Josephine Ban won nine of Hilbert's 15 draw control wins as
Caitlyn Eleczko made nine saves in her first collegiate start in goal, playing all 60-minutes.
???????Gormel evened the game at 1-1 in the 27th minute and Vaughn closed the gap to 6-4 at 11:12 in the opening half. The Lions then scored eight unanswered goals before halftime only to add two more hits after the break (16-4). Gormel scored her second FPS at 21:04 and Vaughn scored at 14:35, but that was all the offense the Hawks could muster before the final horn.
Hilbert has a second game tomorrow morning down in the southeastern part of the state of Pennsylvania. The Hawks will hit the field at 12 noon April 22 against Bryn Athyn before they close their regular season with a pair of home games in Hamburg next weekend.
