GREENSBURG, Pa:   It was a tough night on the court for the Lady Bobcat tennis squad as they dropped a non-conference match with Washington and Jefferson Friday night.
The Presidents swept all 9 matches and cruised to their first win of the season.

UPG's Sydney Geary (Somerset, PA, Somerset) gave W&J's Grace McCarthy a tough match playing at #2 singles for the first time, but Geary eventually fell in straight sets, 6-4 and 7-5.

W&J was also on the winning end of a couple hard fought matches in doubles competition.  UPG's Shayla Landman (Mt. Pleasant, PA, Mt. Pleasant) and Corinne Kirk (Pittsburgh, PA, Baldwin) were edged in #1 doubles, 8-6 while Geary and Amanda Jepsen (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) fell 9-7 playing at #2 doubles.

The Lady Bobcats have a busy weekend as they open up conference play at home tomorrow against Penn State Altoona, followed a non-conference matchup on Sunday again Westminster.  Both matches will be held at Greensburg Racquet Club at 11:00am.  Saturday's bout with Penn State Altoona will be a rematch of last year's AMCC 1st round playoff game, in which the Lions edged the Bobcats, 5-2.
