FORMER AMCC INTERN LANDS JOB AT RIT

The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jacqueline Nicholson announced Olivia Winkfield was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Welfare.

Winkfield completed an 18-month internship with the AMCC, assisting Commissioner Ledwin with projects as assigned, including video and social media content generation, as well as conference championship event administration.
 
Winkfield will be responsible for management and execution of the department's daily compliance functions, to include the maintenance of accurate student-athlete data, preparation of all NCAA, conference and university reports, and monitoring the academic success of RIT's 650 student-athletes. 
 
Winkfield has spent the last year as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Development Graduate Intern at the University at Buffalo, mentoring a team of 40 student-athletes who represent the voice of the department's 16 NCAA Division I teams in matters related to rules, regulations, policy and community service.
 
Winkfield is also on track to complete a Master of Science degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration at Canisius College this spring and has spent the last two years serving multiple roles on campus, including as a career development graduate assistant, an academic mentor in the Griff Center for Student Success and a resident assistant in the Department of Student Life.
 
Winkfield completed a marketing and communications internship at Texas Tech University last summer, working with a team to create and design marketing collateral and planning a virtual higher education conference for graduate students among her duties.
 
Winkfield has also worked for the Buffalo Bills since 2017, serving as a ticket office customer service coordinator. She also spent a year as a Community Events Coordinator for F2 Developing and Mentoring Group, planning and organizing public outreach efforts for professional athletes in the Buffalo area. She also worked as a manager for International Management Group (IMG) and was a football recruiting intern at the University at Buffalo in the spring of 2018.
 
Winkfield completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Journalism/Sports Communications at Canisius in 2020.
