BEHREND, BRADFORD TO JOIN ECWC; ALFRED STATE RETURNING MEMBER

Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend are the newest members of the AMCC to join the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference, and will begin their affiliation during the 2020-21 academic year.

The Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference was established in 1991. The charter members include The College at Brockport, SUNY Cortland, Ithaca College, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Oswego and Rochester Institute of Technology.  In addition, Alfred State College rejoined the conference in 2018.

"The ECWC is looking forward to Penn State Behrend and the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford joining the conference for the coming year, bringing total membership to nine schools." stated commissioner Eric Summers. "Our championship, always a competitive event, will further prepare our athletes for post-season competition with the addition of our new members."

"We are very happy that our wrestling student-athletes at Pitt-Bradford and Penn St. Behrend have found a home with the ECWC," said AMCC Commissioner Donna Ledwin. "The opportunity to affiliate with such high quality teams in the region will no doubt strengthen each of their programs.  To have all three AMCC teams competing in the same league means we can also continue to promote AMCC rivalries within the context of a larger community.  It's a win-win partnership for all."

The ECWC Championships will be held January 16, 2021 at Ithaca College.
