The Hilbert College women’s basketball team participated in the First Annual Shaun Rocco Memorial Community Day at the Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns on Sunday, September 8th.
Shaun Rocco was a graduate of Tonawanda High School whose life was cut short last spring due to suicide.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns partnered with the Town of Tonawanda Parks Department to put on the event to help raise awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. All proceeds will go to the improvement of the Kohler Pool Basketball Court in Tonawanda.
The women’s basketball coaching staff and several members of the team volunteered their time to help officiate the 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Sunday.
