The Pitt-Bradford Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organized and donated 20 Thanksgiving dinner baskets to the Bradford Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) this past week.
It marks the second straight year SAAC has donated Thanksgiving baskets to local families in need and represents an increase of 10 baskets from last year.
Each Panther athletic team donated non-perishable items, such as macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, and greens.
Pitt-Bradford’s Alpha Phi Omega chapter donated $400 to the cause, which was used toward vouchers for purchasing turkeys. Save-A-Lot furnished the vouchers and donated the bags used to hold food items.
University president Dr. Livingston Alexander, women’s basketball coach and SAAC Advisor Sean Brown Sr. and student-athletes Andrew Hoyt and Dalton Renn were instrumental in coordinating the baskets.
