HILBERT CROSS COUNTRY GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITY

HILBERT CROSS COUNTRY GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITY

Returning for their fourth consecutive race, the Hilbert College men's and women's cross country teams volunteered their services at the Lou Reuter Scholarship Run October 16.

Head Coach
Geoff Brunger coordinated a group of Hilbert runners to assist in the seventh annual memorial scholarship run held to honor the late Lou Reuter.  Coach Reuter served as the Western Region Coordinator for the Empire State Games for several years and was a life-long mentor to many students and athletes having taught and coached in the Kenmore district for several decades.

The Hawks directed traffic and encouraged the 200 participants who took part in the 5K course / 1 mile walk which weaved around the Kenmore community.

All proceeds from the run are directed to the Lou Reuter Scholarship Fund which provides scholarship money to one Kenmore East graduate annually.
