The D’Youville College softball team helped raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis on the afternoon
of Saturday, April 30th as part of their Strikeout MS game.

The team helped raise money by selling t-shirts and holding a 50/50 raffle where all proceeds went to 
the Baird Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Center of the Jacobs Neurological Center. 

Multiple Sclerosis is a type of disease that progressively damages the sheath of the nerve cells in the 
brain and spinal cord. Symptoms may include numbness, impairment of speech and of muscular 
coordination, blurred vision, and severe fatigue. As of 2015, it is estimated that 2.5 million people 
worldwide and 400,000 people in the United States have MS.

D’Youville continued their efforts over this past weekend at the AMCC Softball Championship 
Tournament as they sold the remainder of the shirts, furthering their funds raised.

Each of the shirts had a backdrop of home plate with the words “Strike Out MS” on them.
